Let’s see; I am wearing dark shades and wobbling around in the street trying to catch my balance — at work.

In the middle of traffic in beautiful downtown Hamilton.

Not a wise career move.

But I do get a lot of friends wanting to know my source.

At this point I lie and get rid of my craft service competition.

Kidding.

I obviously need to buy regular-shaped glasses with side shields. Like a trotter horse, only see-through.

All the literature says that UV rays sneak in from the sides of our sunglasses if they do not fit our faces properly. A frontal assault isn’t necessary in order to damage our retinas.

Frontal assaults can be fun, if both parties agree, but that has nothing to do with UV rays and retinas — one would hope.

I also tend to get pink eye within twenty minutes of wearing any sunglasses at all. This never used to happen with my mirror-lensed sunglasses that I constantly had glued to my face for the five years that I was a lifeguard. Something has obviously gone awry. I can’t wear swimming goggles either for the same reason. I have never been given an answer to this puzzling development. If you wish to hazard a guess, please do.

The University of Waterloo School of Optometry website states that our sunglasses should give us 1oo per cent UV protection, or a rating of UV 400. The lenses should be brown or grey or dark green. Oh; and check to make sure any bevelled lenses such as cycling glasses, don’t distort your field of vision.

Copy that.

I am not denying that misuse of colloidal silver will turn you dark blue or slate grey. At that point you can join the blue man group or be Sideshow Bob, with a guaranteed income for life. Not so bad.

 But made properly by someone who knows what they are doing, and then used sparingly in a spray bottle directed at the back of the throat and spritzed five to six times when symptoms are at their most annoying, did the trick for me and my fellow film crew flu sufferers.

Out of all the people that tried the colloidal silver in desperation on set, only one person did not feel any relief. The rest of us bounced back on our feet in no time flat.  Relieved flu symptoms in minutes, gone in one or two days. After weeks of suffering and reinfection. 

I am not kidding.

If it had been a placebo effect, the numbers would not have been that staggering. If you are worried about heavy metal poisoning, take burdock tea or Essiac or Floressence once a week to prevent a build-up.

 These teas remove heavy metals, I am told. Always check with a health practitioner, however. Obviously, they had better have some actual knowledge of alternative medicine or they will not help you along this road.

Teas which do heavy metal detox don’t discriminate, so you had better put the trace minerals back in your body with a mineral supplement if you do use any of the aforementioned detox teas.

I found a site a few years ago that stated that 98 per cent of sinus infections are actually yeast infections. This would explain why my symptoms were always aggravated when I made pizza from scratch or with bought dough for the film crews on my hot, stainless steel sweat box of a truck with poor ventiolation. Yeast spores central.

A dentist aquaintance suggested trying colloidal silver. He said that dentists were taught about the efficacy of colloidal silver with regard to clearing up sinus infections while attending dental medical school. I looked at this stuff that just looked like water, tasted like water, smelled like water, and gave it a go.

Stop if you get a metallic taste in your mouth. You’ve had a little more than enough for that time period.

I’ve used it for over five years, periodically when I have felt an illness coming on, or a tooth infection, or sinus infection, and away they have gone. I kid you not.

 I hope that I am not talking until I am literally blue in the face here. But so far, the only thing that is going grey is my hair.

 Don’t make your own colloidal silver, unless you have been properly trained to do so.

So just don’t.

I get mine from a woman who has the backing and the blessing of the Canadian government. One of her children has cystic fibrosis, so she studied naturopathic medicine, became a naturopath, and learned how to make safe doages of colloidal silver to give to all of her children in order to avoid any major illness invading the house and killing her child with cystic fibrosis.

I have been told that the government paid for the set-up of the colloidal silver enterprise and is closely following her results with her family.

No-one is turning blue or grey. Not that anyone is advocating drinking colloidal silver like it is plain water. Just use it when you need it, which, for most people, will be when tradtional antibiotics let you down.

Check with a qualified health practitioner.

All I can say is that colloidal silver works for me, my friends and my animals. I can’t afford dental surgery for my cats and dogs, but the colloidal silver gets rid of infections like a charm.

My dogs names are “Blue” and “Smokey” and my cats are “Smudge”, “Cobalt” and “Slate Grey Kitty”. I haven’t noticed any colour changes in them, so I must be safe.
